Dear Editor,
Though most of my time is spent addressing some pending matters which was shelved for some years now, I can’t say for sure the level of progress the Guyana Tourism Industry is making, but I will continue to say to all stakeholders that I am aware that it’s no easy task in convincing foreigners to head to this direction and you just have to keep going and keep fighting harder in accomplishing your task. I still do make time to contribute my little bits and pieces from an independent stand point which is very challenging.

I believe, locally we can improvise in many little ways with the consultation of experts on preservation of artefacts. Perhaps we can now consider a different approach and include schools environs as an option. Of course, the Ministry Of Education will need to play a major role in collaboration with all stakeholders.

I thought perhaps artefacts that represent schools from decades ago, especially the ‘British Guiana’ era could now be displayed in glass showcases and in this way, we can assist in the preservation aspect of our history. I do possess a historical literature piece of the ‘Bishop’s High School Journal dated September 1958’ which I am making available by way of photo image for education to everyone via your respective newspapers and it has some very interesting data along with a few photo images and advertisements.

Two notable names published in it are as follows.
Christobel Deane (Secretary of the Methodist Society at UCWI).Though I am wild guessing with this name, I believe she has transitioned and was the wife of the late Senior Council, Clarence Hughes and Shirley Field-Ridley (President of the Political Club and female student of the year 1957-58 at UCWI).This is a very popular name over the years. Quite a lot will agree.
