‘NOTHING to Laugh About 11,’ on at the National Cultural Centre as usual from tonight to Monday, June 4 promises to be bigger and better this time around; like nothing that’s been done over the years so far!

The organisers of the 11th edition of the show are promising that the show will be “provocative, hilarious and scandalous as always.” It is being produced by Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones and Maria Benschop.

“But this year, the franchise will take things to a whole new level. This show is dubbed as the best of the 11 that has been done thus far. From politics to religion to trending topics, ‘Nothing to Laugh About’ has it all! No one will be spared from the caricature,” the team has told the Buzz.

One of the well-loved and highly anticipated characters, Michael ‘Credit’ Ignatius, told the Buzz in an interview that this year’s show features original material and skits with an energy level that could not previously be surpassed.

He described it as the biggest comedy show in Guyana at the moment which holds a certain reputation. To upkeep such a reputation, he said the participants are working hard to do their best and put on a great show.

One of the reasons people pay their money to see the show, Ignatius observed, is to be entertained. “That’s why I will be putting in 200 per cent; to ensure people get their money’s worth and enjoy a great show.”

This year’s show will feature more ‘Credit and Radhika’ (Leza Singh) scenes, which have been well received over the years.

Another participant, Mark Luke Edwards, told the Buzz he will be playing a number of different characters which is fun, but at the same time, a lot of work.
The rehearsals are going great thus far and Edwards is promising a show that is going to be very funny and one not to be missed.

He said recent events, some which are funny, were able to be included in the show. The show, according to him, will feature a lot of notable current events.

The show starts at 20:00hrs and tickets for $1,000, $1,500 and $2,000 can be picked up at the National Cultural Centre, Gizmos and Gadgets, Elegance Jewellery and Pawn Shop, Payless Variety Store (V/hoop & G/Town), KFC (Regent St), Sir Mars, Survival Supermarket, Igloo outlet (Providence) and the Giftland mall.

The highly anticipated show will feature other local stars such as Kirwyn Mars, Clemencio Goddette, Brian Goodman, Chris Gopaul, Simone Persaud, Mark “Chinee Man” Kazim, Zoya Moore, Ashley Alfred, Kijana Lewis, Ann-Marie Singh, and Jermaine Grimmond.
