Senior female team to undergo encampment

THE national female cricket team will undergo an encampment period from today, prior to their departure for Cricket West Indies Women’s Regional T20 and 50-over tournaments, which are scheduled to take place in Jamaica from Thursday June 7 to 25.

The encampment will be held at the GCB’s hostel at LBI, and will definitely serve as ideal preparation, as the team aim for adequate success during the tournaments.
Fourteen players have been selected, along with six reserves. The team manager is Carol Nurse, and the coach is Bharat Mangru.

The 14 players are: Shemaine Campbelle (captain), Sheneta Grimmond, Mandy Mangru, Shabika Gajnabi, Lashuna Toussaint, Melanie Henry, Tremayne Smartt, Cherry-Ann Fraser, Erva Giddings, Kaysia Shultz, Subrina Munroe, Akaze Thompson, Plaffiana Millington and Katana Mentore.

The reserve players are: Heema Singh, Shenika Campbelle, Latoya Smith, Dian Prahalad, Althea Newark and Casey Charles.
The above players are asked to report to the hostel at 16:00hrs today.
