– allegedly for awaking him
A TWENTY-three-year-old Essequibo housewife was on Friday stabbed by her reputed husband of three years after she reportedly awoke him.
Evadne Williams, of Hampton Court Village, is presently a patient at the Suddie Public Hospital where doctors have listed her condition as stable. Her husband, Julian Gulliver, meanwhile, is on the run.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday at the couple’s Hampton Court home.
The stabbing reportedly stemmed from her earlier upbraiding him in public while he was having a drink at a bar in the village.
Reports are that after Williams reprimanded Gulliver, she left for the Anna Regina Market to do some shopping, and upon returning home, saw that he was sleeping and tried to wake him up.
Her doing so apparently so annoyed him that he got a knife and dealt her several stabs about the body.
The injured and bloodied woman was taken by kind neighbours to the hospital, while the man fled.
The police are reportedly looking into the matter.
