THE Guyana Prison Service (Republican Gym) last evening signalled its return to boxing in Guyana with the unveiling of a six-man team, who will participate in the Andrew Lewis National Novices tournament, set to punch off tonight at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.

The evidently-hyped team weighed in yesterday and boxers were soon after whisked away by management in order to save energy for the encounters tonight. The drum-beating Republicans are expected to go hard against the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) gym, also known to be accompanied by drums.

However, one representative of the Prison Service declared that drums would be the only things the GDF would be beating at the upcoming tournament.
