BLAIRMONT Centre Cricket Club (BCCC) hosted its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) last Thursday in the Roy Fredericks pavilion of the Blairmont Estate Community Centre that saw businessman Shabeer Baksh being returned unopposed as president for period 2018-2019.
Baksh will have as his vice-president Mohamed Razack, Vejai Frahad as treasurer and Omesh Prashad as his assistant. Retired Headmistress Zoilka Ishahack is the new secretary and Ameer Rahim will be her assistant. Other committee members elected are; Anil Sukra Shizad Ali, Jerry Karim, Radesha Persaud, Tony Tageram, Mark Singh and Selena Sipchand.
In an invited comment with Chronicle Sport, Baksh said, “I’m enthusiastic and look forward to working with the new elected executives for a bright and better 2018-2019 period.”
Baksh welcomed the inclusion of a female in the administration and mentioned this being the first time since the club’s revival in 2010 that female members have been elected. The main goal of the newly-elected Executive is to make BCCC the best in Guyana, he concluded.
The executives will meet tomorrow at the same venue to form various committees and plan the working programme for period 2018-2019. (Colin Bynoe)
