SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Ricardo Kiven Singh, a labourer of Onderneeming Village on the Essequibo Coast, was on Tuesday sentenced to one-month imprisonment for stealing pears.

He made his first appearance before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Anna Regina Magistrate Court and pleaded guilty to a charge of simple larceny.
The charge stated that on March 31 he stole 300 pears valued $60,000 from Devindra Indal of Onderneeming.
