Sol introduces new motor oil

SOL GUYANA has joined an ongoing revolution in motor oil, launching its ground-breaking Shell motor oil formulation, the fully synthetic Helix Ultra-range of premium lubricants made from natural gas with patented Shell PurePlus technology.
According to a press statement from Sol, Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology is the company’s most technologically advanced lubricant and the first motor oil designed for natural gas.

Sol Guyana, the official macro distributor for Shell lubricant, introduced the new product at a simple ceremony on Wednesday at the Pegasus Hotel.
The new Helix Ultra with PurePlus technology is expected to give motorists in Guyana access to Shell’s latest and most advanced motor oil, designed to deliver a range of key benefits which meet the needs of modern engines.

“From our company’s inception we pledged the delivery of quality products and services, customised solutions, flexibility and excellent sales support to customers, building on the legacy of Shell lubricants in Guyana,” said General Manager (Guyana) Liz Wyatt.
The manager noted that Sol’s longstanding partnership with Shell continues to be of benefit to the customers, and they are proud of their continued association with the world’s leading suppliers of high quality motor oils.

It is in keeping with this tradition that Sol will continue to support their customers by ensuring that they can always make informed choices of the best lubricants available for their particular vehicle application.

The new Shell Helix Ultra-synthetic line of premium motor oils introduces an entirely new way of producing synthetic base oils from natural gas with the patented Shell PurePlus technology, a cutting edge gas-to-liquid technology process that converts natural gas into crystal-clear base oil with virtually none of the impurities found in crude oil.
Ayanna Watson, Commercial and Lubricants Manager said the innovative motor oil constituted a significant advancement in the composition of Shell Helix Ultra motor oils.
This launch marked the culmination of 40 years of research in gas-to-liquid technology at Shell lubricants technology centres worldwide. Shell PurePlus Technology is paving the way for the next generation of motor oils by offering possibilities for new viscosity grades that can provide engine protection in more extreme conditions.

Shell PurePlus technology also works in combination with active cleansing technology to produce a premium lubricant which under tests demonstrated the highest attainable levels of cleansing and protection, keeping engines closer to factory clean than any of engine deposits and sludge.
According to Watson, it has also been shown to contribute positively to fuel saving.
