Jury empanelled for ‘Bucket of Water’ murder trial

A 12-MEMBER jury was empanelled on Tuesday morning before Justice James Bovell-Drakes for the start of the Vindra Siriram “head in bucket of water” murder trial in the Georgetown High Court.

According to the state’s case, between June 9 and 10, 2014 the accused allegedly murdered his wife, Shelly Ann Persaud.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence for which he stands indicted. He is represented by defence attorney Damian Da Silva, while the state prosecutors are Shawnette Austin and Seeta Bishundyal.

The state is expected to call about 10 witnesses.
