I AM extremely exhausted but tapping into reserve at the moment. My adrenaline was running so high over the week and I am now feeling the effects but is all good. Working on the two Anthologies Women Across Borders while I was organising this Expo was no easy feat. I’m very proud to announce both made it to Amazon best sellers list and I must thank my co-authors. I know my small team also needs some much-needed rest but can’t yet because we are finalising plans for the Tea Party and Fashion Show to Raise funds for the LIVING WITH INTENTION Motivational Tour at Lusignan Golf Course on March 25. The many testimonies are causing me to get emotional. This event was so consuming that I did not get to contribute to this column last week.
The press conference on Friday morning had set the tone for this empowering weekend. Thank you Ms. Lagan , Carolyn Caesar, Dr. Jackie Evans and Hilda Bourne who joined me at the head table. Friday afternoon was our last meeting and briefing regarding the weekend’s activities. Even the exhibitors started sharing the experience of the journey leading up to the big weekend. Some of the exhibitors realised instantly the importance of all the forums prior to the event but some got it along the way. They all agreed every forum added value to them and the respective businesses that will give them an advantage beyond the expo.
Thank you, Hon. Minister Cathy Hughes for your powerful remarks at the opening of the Women in Business EXPO. Ms. Reece, you represented the Hon. Minister Amna Ally well. Congrats to Integrated Security Services and Mings Products and Services who received the award for elevating women in the workplace. The INSPIRE YOU Motivational Event did not fail to inspire and motivate. Over the weekend I interacted with all the exhibitors to get a feel of this because this is a journey for us all and we need to know where we can improve.
When I arrived at Veronica Glenn’s booth she placed a letter in my hands and said when you get time please read it. I am sharing that letter with you.
Good day Dr. Sonia Noel
Today is our first day together for Women in Business 2018. The year of Pop-up, Shake-up, top-up, step-up, come-up, stand up- get up, climb up and stay-up.
It started with your vision and mission for women. This team of women was graced with education in Technology, Health issues, Business attitudes, Socialising, Communication attitudes, Makeup Artist, Networking benefits and bringing out the U in you.
Then there is the action taken by all of us to use those freely to succeed for ourselves and others, sustainability towards progress and recognition in business.
Now from all this, the end result is that I have absorbed so much that I feel extra strength and empowered, it has led me to greatness and excellence combined with integrity for the continuous climb to function despite the challenges (negative) which can no longer floor me, that I can’t get up.
P.S. Dear Sonia, I had one to caption now I have two. With determination my student population will certainly grow, I will stick with Women in Business by the grace of God.
I Love and respect you. Love calls had been far and few to the fact that we were in company.
Veronica Glenn.
We have so many messages that are encouraging which indicates events like these are needed. God is awesome and he is placing us in each other’s lives for a reason.
I must thank the exhibitors for taking this bold step, my partners, my team for not quitting when the waters got choppy, the media, patrons who attended and the speakers who came for INSPIRE YOU, especially the ones who came from far away.
