KARATEKA and Inspector of Police attached to the Tactical Services Unit (TSU), Keith Beaton, excelled at the recently concluded Karate Association of Guyana tournament.

At the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), Beaton competed in the Male Open Black Belt Kumite (fighting) and Male Open Kata and was placed second and third respectively earning silver and bronze medals.

The tournament is in preparation for the upcoming International Karate Daigaku World Cup in Bridgetown, Barbados from August 14 to 17, 2018.

On February 11, 2018, he was appointed the Second vice-president of the Guyana Karate Federation (GKF).

He has over 28 years’ experience in fighting karate; he is also a Sensei and holds a second-degree Black Belt for 7 years.
