Teen on life support after hit by bus

PEDAL cyclist Nandraine Budram, 13, of 250 La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, is on life support at the Georgetown Public Hospital after she was struck down by a minibus on Sunday.

The accident occurred on the La Parfaite Harmonie Access Road around 15.30 hrs and the minibus driver has been identified as Troy Allen of Lot Two, Bagotville, East Bank Demerara.

Reports indicate that the minibus was proceeding north along the eastern side of the road when the cyclist, who was proceeding in the opposite direction, allegedly rode across the road from east to west and into the path of the bus.
The driver of the minibus has since been taken into police custody.
