Six persons inclusive of a female have been taken into custody Monday afternoon by police ranks stationed at the Police Checkpoint at Itabali, Puruni Road, Mazaruni River, Region seven, after the lawmen found at a total of 662 grams of compressed cannabis.

Police said 557 grams were found in a music-box belonging to one of the suspects whilst the remainder was found secreted inside the vehicle in which they were detained and later arrested.

A case file has since been forwarded for advice in relation to the institution of charges.
