IN an effort to improve safety while reducing damage to Government reserves, the Ministry of Public Infrastructure is forging ahead with a project that will see the removal of trailers and derelict vehicles that have been left on roadways.

Oftentimes, the vehicles are left on Government reserves and are unlit, thereby becoming a safety hazard to road users, the ministry said in a release. In some cases as with Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara, the trailers and/or derelict vehicles are left on sidewalks, making these facilities unavailable to pedestrians and cyclists.

The ministry is urging the owners of trailers and derelict vehicles left on Government reserves to remove them immediately.
