SEVEN- year old Kisson Henry is nursing a broken ankle after she heroically rescued her four -year old brother from a burning building at Glasgow New Housing Scheme , East Bank Berbice on Monday night.
According to information, at approximately 21:30 hrs the two children Kisson and Kyle Henry,were home alone at their Glasgow, New Housing Scheme , East Bank Berbice residence when a fire broke out in the upper flat.
The young girl was awaken by the smell of smoke  and she quickly alerted her baby brother , safely covered him in a sheet, made a sling and gradually let him out through a window.
Realizing her little brother was safe , Kisson called out for help before jumping from the same window , injuring herself in the process.
After hearing cries for help neighbors rushed to the scene and alerted the Guyana Fire Service and firemen arrived promptly and were able to save the building.
Residents explained that the children would be left alone and unattended on numerous occasions as their mother would be gone for long hours in the nights .
The fire is alleged to have started from a burning candle; a small portion in the upper flat was destroyed due to the fire.
The seven year old is currently a patient at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
According to a source, the whereabouts of the mother who was identified, Timela Henry as is still unknown.
