Wins for Chase, Buxton and St Rose’s as 2018 Milo U-18 football tournament opens

CHASE Academy started with the victory they wanted, as this year’s Milo Schools U-18 Football tournament got underway yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground.
The defending champions maintained their ruthlessness by overpowering Carmel Secondary 12-0 in one of three matches in the first round.

Jeremy Garrett (2nd and 49th), Malachi Adonis (22nd and 24th) and Stephan Rudd (42nd and 65th) were the main destroyers. Single strikes came from Randel Peters (21st), Nickolas McArthur (29th), Isaiah Jack (52nd), Kevin Padmore (62nd) and Marcus Wilson (64th).

One own goal came from Carmel.
In the day’s opening game, Buxton were made to work for their 4-2 win against The Business School with a ‘Shamar’ doing all the scoring. Shamar Kingston netted the team’s brace in the (27th and 70th) while Shamar Singh (52nd) and Shamar Scott (66th) were the other goalscorers.. Jermaine Padmore (7th and 15th) gave the Business School the lead and then doubled it before his side were overtaken.

St Rose’s were also victors on day one as Akeem Forde and Shane France scored in the 21st and 45th minutes to down Cummings Lodge 2-0.

Matches will continue today with South Ruimveldt playing Charlestown Secondary from 12:00hrs, Masters Academy clashing with Queenstown Secondary from 13:30hrs and Sir Leon Lessons facing Uitvlugt Secondary.
