KRISHNA Arjune, 25, of Clifton Settlement, Corentyne, Berbice, who was stabbed during a heated argument over an old game of pools on Old Year’s Night, has succumbed to his injuries.

His attacker, Haemant Ramlall, 46, of Mibicuri, Corentyne, Berbice, is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
According to reports, Arjune was picked up by relatives and taken to the Port Mourant Hospital where he was seen, treated and referred to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was admitted in serious condition.

On January, 2, 2018, Ramlall appeared before Magistrate Charlyn Artiga at the Mibicuri Magistrates’ Court charged with wounding Arjune. He was released on $75,000 while the matter was adjourned until January 25.

However, on January 4, about 16:30hrs, Arjune succumbed while at the New Amsterdam Hospital. Police then went to Ramlall’s home and received information that he was last seen in a taxi heading in the direction of Skeldon.
He was later turned over to the police at the Whim Police Station by his father.
A post-mortem is expected to be conducted on Arjune this week, while Ramlall is expected to be charged for murder.
