THE parents and other close relatives of 14-year-old Tanis Webster, who has been reported missing since Wednesday, are pleading with members of the public to help them find her.

According to the teen’s grandmother, Ms Hyacinth Watson, Tanis left her Paradise Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara home on Wednesday at around 14:00hrs to go to lessons, but has not been seen, nor heard of since.

The woman said that relatives have been searching high and low for her ever since, but have not been able to pick up a trace of where she might have gone, or what has become of her.

But she has this sneaky feeling that the teen couldn’t have gone far; that she is somewhere in the neighbourhood, and is appealing to her to just come on home; that all will be forgiven.

Her sister, Fieona, told the Guyana Chronicle that she believes that her sibling is in the company of friends who have misled her to stay away from home, and made an emotional plea on television for her safe return.

She said her sister has never stayed out before, and she is hoping that she will soon come to her senses and return home and be reunited with her family.

She said the family has since Tanis’s disappearance made a missing person report at the police station, asking that anyone knowing of her whereabouts to contact them on telephone numbers: 642-4762, 647-3319 or 255-0991.
