Sunday’s 5km races marked the climax of four days of activities in the Classic which began last Thursday. Over 300 athletes participated in the various categories of the Classic.
Following their achievements the respective winners received their prizes. Laptops and desktops were part of the over $3M in prizes distributed.

Present at Sunday’s presentation ceremony was Director of Sport Christopher Jones, who said he hopes to see the life of the event continue, and come back even bigger and better next year. Plans are afoot to have the event shifted to August as of next year, to encourage more participation from the schools.

Organiser of the event Andy King-Medas extended heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their support and urged the athletes to remain steadfast in their training and to find the right balance with their academics, since next year he will attempt to fund scholarships to the University of Guyana.
King-Medas was also extremely appreciative of Banks DIH under their Rainforest Waters and Powerade brands.
