CITY Magistrate Leron Daly on Friday sentenced a man to nine months’ imprisonment for snatching a woman’s phone.
Junior Leitch confessed that on September 26 at Mandela Avenue, he robbed Anura Sankar of an HTC cellphone valued $60,000 while using personal violence on her.
According to reports, Leitch took away the phone and when she resisted he cuffed and kicked her about the body.
Leitch admitted to the court that he had snatched Sankar’s phone, but denied beating the woman.
