CAL operates relief flights to Tortola, Antigua, St. Maarten and Kingston

CARIBBEAN Airlines (CAL) on Friday announced that it will continue to support the hurricane relief efforts by operating flights to Tortola and separate flights to Antigua to evacuate persons from the hurricane-ravaged islands.
In a statement issued on its Facebook page, CAL said as of today it will be operating another relief flight from Port-of- Spain, Trinidad, to St. Maarten. That flight is scheduled to depart at 07:00hrs and will leave St. Maarten for Kingston, Jamaica at o9:35hrs with nationals of Jamaica and other CARICOM countries affected by the hurricane.
The aircraft will leave Jamaica at 11.15j (Jamaica time) to St. Maarten with supplies from Jamaica. It will then collect nationals of Trinidad and Tobago and other CARICOM countries from St. Maarten and depart at 15:30hrs for Piarco International Airport, Trinidad, where it should land around 17:05hrs.

Commercial passengers would not be able to travel on the flight.
“With significant support from corporate Trinidad and Tobago, Caribbean Airlines is moving relief supplies and essential goods such as water, canned foods, tarpaulins and other products. As a responsible corporate body, Caribbean Airlines will continue to assist government agencies and other stakeholders to coordinate emergency relief and get help to people as quickly as possible,” the statement said.

The airline said its assistance to the affected territories and people is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and embodies the theme “We Care, We Connect, We Create and We are the Caribbean,” while supporting its mission of connecting people.

“The employees of Caribbean Airlines continue to work to support the people of St Maarten and the British Virgin Islands, at this challenging time,” CAL stated as it expressed empathy to those affected across the Region.
