A beautiful, colourful start

–to a brand new academic year

THE new academic year, which began here in Guyana on Monday, saw children of all ages heading out to school in their brightly coloured uniforms, some for the very first first time, and some ready to start afresh in new classes.

The Guyana Chronicle was on hand to capture the scene in all its many facets, from mothers taking their young ones to the various schools along Woolford Avenue, to children beginning the new day of a new school year by reciting the National Pledge.
