A third place finish in the USF2000 series sponsored by Cooper tires ensured that Calvin Ming helped Pabst to the constructor’s title.
Ming finished third yesterday as the event continued in Watkins Glenn.
With his performance, the Guyanese has successfully assisted his Pabst team to the USF2000 title with Oliver Askew winning the individual over the weekend.
The weekend started well, with Ming managing to lead the pack with the fastest lap times during the Friday free practice sessions.
However, he only managed to qualify in P6 on Saturday morning, while his teammate Rinus Veekay qualified in P2, and Oliver Askew in P1.
Starting from P6, Calvin Ming quickly charged into P3, by the exit of the first corner with Askew in the lead and Veekay only briefly ahead of him.
By the end of lap #1, Rinus overtook Oliver and never looked back.
Ming hounded down Oliver for the entire 30 minutes race which ran for 17 laps around the world famous Watkins Glen, 0 .75 miles long circuit with 11 turns and several elevation changes.
The Pabst racing team comprises Lucas Kohl from Brazil, Rinus Veekay from Holland, and Ming from Guyana.
