FOLLOWING a tough Radical weekend in England, two-time Caribbean champion Kristian Jeffrey rebounded well in the SR1 class to finish twice on the podium.

Jeffrey, who spoke exclusively to Chronicle Sport yesterday confirmed the wins, saying that the weekend was a tough one but he credits his victories to those who supported him on race day.
“I owe it all to the team to bounce back from a devastating weekend; to even manage to come in the top 10 was an accomplishment.”
Breaking down the weekend, the Guyanese said, “The first session (SR3) we usually do a 3-lap stint and go through the car. When I came back into the pits, we noticed oil was leaking. We missed that session.”
He continued, “Our next session we tried again, the car caught fire burning mostly the loom. So practice was out and went straight into qualifying.”
“Qualified 13th of 35, and finished 10th 9th and 7th. Those finishes are valuable to my chances of a top-5 finish in my debut season in England,” he added.
Jeffrey noted that after day one, things got more interesting; with the team as a result of the lack of time on track asking him to race in the SR1 championship.
“Again new car – went straight into qualifying. It was an interesting session as I was 9th quickest until the last lap I managed to feel the car and got it to p2. In the race, I battled from start to finish and ended race 1 with a SR1 debut victory and a 3rd place in the final race.”
“We were struggling with oversteer, but seemed to have gotten it better in race 3. At this level, every session matters, so it’s important to get as many runs on track for data to the team.”
