THE first round of the Petra organised Corona Invitational Football tournament will get underway today with a triple- header at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.
The inclement weather had caused a postponement of the start of the tournament, which will take a round -robin knock-out format. Organisers have confirmed that the kick-off will take place today.
In the first of the three games, Northern Rangers will take on East Veldt FC from 17:00hrs with Riddim Squad and Flamingo going toe-to-toe from 19:00hrs.
In the third match of the night, Pele will take on Santos FC from 21:00hrs.
As part of the tournament’s promotion, free admission has been added for the first game-day and it will continue to be the same for women only throughout the duration of the tournament
The tournament will feature the 12 top teams in the Georgetown area as they vie for $1M in cash and prizes.
