DRIVERS taking advantage of the newly introduced Shell FuelSave economy fuel can now extend the savings from their fuel tanks to their monthly bills with Sol Guyana’s “Save for a Year with Shell FuelSave” promotion.

The promotion was launched Wednesday night at the Marriott Hotel, Kingston Georgetown. In attendance was Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin, and stakeholders in the sector. The event which was promoted by Inspire Inc was divided into three sections, cocktail, formal and entertainment.

The business minister congratulated the company on its move to offer drivers the option of using a fuel that offers more kilometers per liter.

Minister Gaskin noted that the Shell FuelSave formulation, developed exclusively by Shell enables Guyana to position itself on the map of countries concerned about energy saving as Guyana is also promoting a green state.

Gaskin said Shell FuelSave is the result of extensive research programmes to get the most out of every drop.

Liz Wyatt, recently appointed general manager of Sol Guyana Inc., the licensed operator of Shell Service Stations, said the campaign, which runs until August 4, was designed to reward customers with savings on more than just fuel.

“Starting this Friday, June 9th, every $3,000 spent in Shell FuelSave will earn you a chance to win one of three grand prizes to have your bills paid for a year. Our first prize winner will receive mortgage or rent payments; for our second prize winner it will be car payments; and free Shell FuelSave for our third prize winner. We are making it easier for you to save even more with Shell FuelSave,” said Wyatt.

The general manager said customers spending $5,000 in Shell FuelSave would receive chances to win up to $100,000 in the Cash Machine during weekly happy hours, while each week a lucky winner would be drawn to have a monthly bill of their choice paid, including fuel, groceries, utilities or cable, Internet and telephone.

“We are very excited to be introducing a fuel that is designed to last longer, but at no extra cost to customers, and to help customers save even more, we have launched this ‘Save for a Year with Shell FuelSave promotion’,” said Wyatt.

She said the advanced FuelSave formula is based on Shell’s active efficiency ingredients and is designed to last longer and improve engine efficiency from the very first tank.

It will be available in both Shell FuelSave Gasoline and FuelSave Diesel which contains special detergents tested effective at maintaining clean injectors and engine condition.
