For a typical employee, after a five-day work week, some of us try to go out for a bit and unwind, but what we find is that the options for the nearest ‘watering hole’ are somewhat limited.
 
Chill Spot
For some, a ‘chill spot’ is easy to find, like the Fridays after work lime at Sweet Point Bar in Orange Walk, Bourda- known colloquially as Bam-Bam Alley. For others, Seeta’s Bar is the ideal spot for that deserving drink.

But some of us avoid the usual large gathering of patrons and prefer a quieter setting with less noise. Some would opt for the Hotel setting at places like Marriot, Pegasus, Tower. Or maybe places like OMG Restaurant or the Midtown Chariot Bar among others.Others tend to go with the flow of going to the ‘regular’ places of the popular bars in the city with friends and coworkers.

However, this Friday after work lime is not limited to any group of people, most folks like to go out on Fridays to have a bit of relaxation and indulge in their favourite alcoholic beverages and foods. People go to places of their choice and taste and it varies from person to person. For instance, Sweet Point bar is the place to be for a mature crowd but the younger crowd may want to go elsewhere.

Community Lime

Some communities are known for having their hot spots as well and it is often these locations that provide quite a good bit of entertainment. East and West Ruimveldt, La Penitence and Meadow Brook are some of those areas. And while the mainstream crowd may not clamour to those destinations, they do attract their fair share of patrons.

These locations also sometimes offer the most comfortable atmosphere.  You get to have your drinks at your own pace and at the same time you get the opportunity to play friendly games of dominoes and cards.

In fact, many think that apart from just sitting and drinking, it is these bar games and activities that help to sharpen your skills both in the game and while socializing.

Regardless of what your taste is, you may find it useful to weed out your options- as limited as they may be- and visit one of these places for a bit if relaxation. After all, three days later, and the work week begins again, bringing its own challenges. It’s always best to sit back and reflect on the past week’s difficulties before moving ahead into the next.
