MOTHERS in Berbice were treated to a pre-Mother’s Day appreciation ceremony hosted by Banks DIH Limited and ‘B’ Division of the Guyana Police Force on Friday at the Banks DIH branch on Main Street.
The Guyana Police Force military band under the baton of the force’s first female director of music, Superintendent Charmaine Stuart provided an evening of entertainment while gifts and special hampers were presented to mothers, including Superintendent Stuart.
Ian Amsterdam, Commander of ‘B’ Division said that the programme was organised to show appreciation to mothers in the community and also to promote the band’s visits to divisions around the country.
“The military band has embarked on visits to police divisions around the country to organised concerts and we are happy that they are visiting us today,” the Commander said.
Reginald Matthews, Banks DIH Limited Berbice Branch Executive said the ceremony was organised to show appreciation to mothers ahead of Mother’s Day, which will be celebrated on Sunday.
“The event was well attended despite the inclement weather and we must thank the Guyana Police Force for partnering with us in this activity,” he added.
