THIRTY-NINE members of the Guyana Police Force currently attending the University of Guyana and Nations University were Friday the recipients of a quantity of stationery and other paraphernalia, compliments of P&P Insurance Brokers located at North Road and King Street, Georgetown.
The presentation was made by the company’s Director Mr. Vickash Panday to Commissioner of Police Mr. Seelall Persaud, DSM, at his Eve Leary Conference Room, in the presence of the ranks and that of Second-in-Command of the Force’s Administration, Woman Assistant Commissioner Maxine Graham, DSM.
Mr Panday explained that he is very impressed by the force’s performances over the years and also the fact that a large number of its members are being allowed to pursue studies at the University of Guyana as well as other Institutions of higher learning, resulting in a more educated, professional, effective and pro-active police force.
Commissioner Seelall Persaud, in accepting the sizeable donation which is worth in excess of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), thanked Mr. Panday for his timely gesture and for his recognition of the many positive strides that the Guyana Police Force is making for its members and that of the public we serve.
The fields of study for the 39 ranks include; Masters in Public Management and Administration, Degrees and Diplomas in Public Management, Social Work, Criminology and Psychology, International Relations, Banking and Finance, Sociology, Human Resource Management, Accounts, Biology, Computer Science and Cambridge Pre-Law
