GTI student accused of drug-trafficking

A STUDENT of the Government Technical Institute (GTI) was remanded to prison on Tuesday by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on a drug-trafficking charge.
Dulie Bagot, 20, of Fern Drive, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, denied that on April 14, 2017 at East Ruimveldt, he had in his possession 238 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. His attorney Stanley Moore explained to the court that his client is a student of the GTI, where he is studying to become a plumber. Moore further explained that the suspected drugs were not found in his client’s possession.

However, Police Prosecutor, Alwyn Moore opposed bail, noting that the analyst’s report on the drug is outstanding. The chief magistrate remanded the young man until May 3, 2017, when he will appear before city Magistrate, Fabayo Azore.
