THE stage is set for the second annual Expo and Trade Fair of the West Berbice Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WBCIC) to be held at the Bath Settlement Community Centre Ground, West Coast Berbice,this Easter weekend.

The event will be hosted under the Theme “Building a Diversified Economy” and aims to showcase the diversity of West Berbice, Region Five (Mahaica/Berbice) and attract investors.

President of the chamber,Imran Saccoor said the much-anticipated and fun-filled expo and trade fair is designed to attract public and private sector businesses, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other interested organisations to exhibit their products and services in support of the chamber’s drive to promote commerce and trade in Region Five.

He disclosed that several businesses had confirmed their participation in the event and the chamber had received sponsorship from the three major beverage companies: DDL, Banks DIH and Ansa McAL as well as from the Republic Bank.

The expo and trade fair begins at 16:00 hrs on both Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16 and ends at midnight on both days.

President David Granger will deliver the feature address at the opening on Saturday evening.

The usual vending, children’s games and entertainment including live bands, fireworks etc, will be available to satisfy the needs of the general public.

Tickets for adults cost $500 and children $200.
