Sparta to play Sophia; Bent Street pull Back Circle … GT Beer/Petra semi-finalists decided

THE four semi-final teams in the GT Beer/Petra Futsal tournament have been decided following quarter-final action at the National Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.
Sparta Boss, Sophia, Bent Street and Back Circle are the four teams who will contest the semis tomorrow.
Sophia had a hard-fought game against Tucville, and while they opened the scoring through Shem Arthur in the 7th and added another through Dwayne Lowe two minutes later, they suffered a scare.
Jermaine Junior started Tucville on the path of redemption with his goal in the 13th minute, and the side looked well on the verge of a comeback before Sheik Kamal’s 25th minute strike put them 3-1 ahead.
However, Jahaal Greaves’ 28th minute goal ensured the game ended 3-2.
Bent Street, on the other hand, ended Gold is Money’s run in the tournament by a 2-0 margin, which did not reflect the intensity of the game as Okeene Fraser (13th) and Anthony Abrams (16th) scored the winning goals.
Back Circle earned their place via a 2-1 victory over the Broad Street Bullies with Curtez Kellman scoring in the 26th minute and Akeemo Anthony in the 29th while Broad Street had Keiron Solomon (32nd) on target.
In the final game of the evening, Sparta Boss came from behind to beat off North East La Penitence 2-1.
Kevin Moore opened the scoring for North East in the 30th, but an own goal from in the 35th minute and a single strike from Devon Millington (39th) piloted Sparta into the next round.
In the exhibition games, Green Ice overcame Pretty Posse 4-1 while Customs edged Upper Level Barbershop 2-1.
Semi-final action will take place tomorrow with the final billed for Saturday, April 15.
