Teen remanded for armed robbery

AN ALBOUYSTOWN, Georgetown resident was remanded to prison by Magistrate Fabayo Azore on Wednesday for the offence of armed robbery.
Kevon Ridley, 18, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on March 24, 2017 at Georgetown, while being in the company of others and armed with a gun, he robbed Linden Roberts of three gold chains valued $360,000.
When asked by the Magistrate about his occupation, the young man said, “I does lay pipe.” Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne opposed bail, based on the seriousness and prevalence of the offence. Payne also added that when Ridley was arrested by the police, he reportedly confessed to the crime.
Bail was refused and the matter was adjourned to April 19, 2017.
