A DYNAMIC Airways flight bound for JFK International Airport, New York,was cancelled Sunday afternoon due to a hydraulic leak on its 767 aircraft.
In a release, Dynamic International Airways said it regretted to announce the cancellation of flight 2D 402 out of Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
“Dynamic maintenance engineers worked diligently in an effort to correct the problem but were unable to complete their task before nightfall, forcing the cancellation of the flight,” the release stated.
It added that the 150 passengers are being offered transportation vouchers to get home and return to the airport.
Passengers from far-flung areas are being offered hotel accommodation and meals. According to the release, another Dynamic aircraft will arrive in Guyana this morning and will facilitate the departure of affected passengers in the afternoon.
“Dynamic regrets any inconvenience which this 24-hour delay in departure causes to its passengers,”the release added.
It further stated that this is the first cancellation for 2017 of a Dynamic International Airways flight serving the Guyana route.
“Safety is Dynamic’s number one priority and thanks to the affected passengers for their understanding and cooperation,” the release ended.
