AN improved performance in the sport and street tuner class is what competitor Azad Hassan is looking for, come April 2, when the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) stages its first National Race of Champions.
Speaking to Chronicle Sport, the driver indicated, “Nothing has been done yet since last November race meeting. However, my chief mechanic indicated to me that he would like to get the car balanced and at the same time shed some weight as the car is about 60lb over the required weight.
He added, “There are some points that I need to work on to get faster. That will be done before the race meeting.”
He says he plans to get the jump on the competition and utilise what he has been taught by renowned Trinidadian driver Tanko Baboolall.
“I am looking forward for the competition as they are talented drivers in my group and I am hoping for a repeat of last November race meeting,” he added.
His car is sponsored by GUYOIL, Buddys Entertainment Complex, Toucan Industries, Marvex Bleach, Twins Manufacturing, Leon Dorado Int’l Hotel and is being prepared by Emran & Raymond Automotive Services under the
