TWO men were Tuesday morning arrested in Moco Moco, Rupununi, Region Nine, after the police discovered a marijuana camp, one acre in size.
Police made the discovery at 03:30hrs Tuesday, stumbling on thousands of marijuana plants from seedlings to nine feet in height.
The field was subsequently destroyed along with the tents, hammocks and containers.
The cultivation was an estimated 2.5 kilos. When contacted, Divisional Commander Senior Superintendent Ravindradat Budhram confirmed that there was a bust and two suspects were in custody.
He explained that the division recently received an increase in resources and ranks which contributed to the discovery. The commander also thanked members of the community for assisting the police. He said that networking, teamwork and communication are important aspects of policing in addition to the valued feedback of members of communities and society.
