A Moruca businessman was chopped to death on Friday morning, allegedly by a villager who reportedly went berserk.

Dead is Jimmy Changa known as ‘Khrishna’; he was attacked around 6:30hrs while s on his way to join his son at his farm at CoCo, Mouruca Sub District, Region One.

The body of Changa bore several chop wounds while one of his hands and legs were severed. His attacker has been identified as Daniel Rodrigues, who was subsequently taken into police custody.

According to residents in the area, Rodrigues has been roaming the village for several weeks now and three days ago he armed himself with a cutlass and continued to walk around the village saying he was going to chop the businessman.
