Upper Mazaruni man on wounding charge

A PHILIPPI farmer who took matters into his own hands ended up in court charged with wounding and causing grievous bodily harm.
Robert Frederick, 28, of Philippi Village, Upper Mazaruni River, Essequibo, was placed on $30,000 bail when he was arraigned in the Georgetown Magistrates’ court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

It is alleged that Frederick, at Philippi Village, on January 27, 2017 unlawfully wounded Ramsom Thomas, stabbing him to the abdomen. In November, 2015 Thomas was charged for attempting to murder Frederick over a memory card. Fredricks, had visited Thomas’ house to inquire about a memory card when the incident occurred.

According to the police facts sometime after the altercation with Thomas, Frederick recently approached him and stabbed Thomas. The matter was transferred to the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court for March 20.
