Samuels heads missing West Indies quartet

WEST Indies have left out quartet Marlon Samuels, Sulieman Benn, Johnson Charles and Sunil Narine for the upcoming England ODI series.
Marlon Samuels, Sulieman Benn, Johnson Charles and Sunil Narine have been left out of West Indies’ 15-man training squad ahead of their one-day international series with England.
Samuels was cleared to return to bowl in international cricket by the ICC last week but it was not enough to earn him an ODI recall – his last appearances coming in October before being dropped for their tri-series in Zimbabwe.

His absence means there will be no meeting with Ben Stokes following clashes between the pair since the World T20 final in 2016.
Experienced trio Benn, Charles and Narine are also missing from the squad for the three-match series next month despite featuring in Zimbabwe – West Indies failing to make the final after taking one win from their four matches.
There is a recall for opener Kieran Powell after nearly three years away, and he is joined by 20-year-old all-rounder Alzarri Joseph in Stuart Law’s first squad.
Antigua’s Sir Vivian Richards Stadium hosts the opening two matches with England, before a final match in Barbados on March 9.

West Indies training squad in full: Jason Holder (captain), Devendra Bishoo, Carlos Brathwaite, Kraigg Brathwaite, Jonathan Carter, Miguel Cummins, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Ashley Nurse, Kieran Powell, Rovman Powell.
