Court hears of cutlass attack at football game

A 29-year-old man was Tuesday released on $50,000 bail by City Magistrate Dylon Bess, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for wounding another man during a feud at a football game.

It’s alleged that Rolex Adams, on February 1, at West Ruimveldt, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Dwayne Scott with intent to maim, disfigure or cause grievous bodily harm to him.
Adams pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on $50,000. The matter is adjourned until March 6. According to reports both parties are known to each other and would often play football together in West Ruimveldt. However,there was a misunderstanding on the day in question and Adams armed himself with a cutlass and attacked Scott.
