Michael France, called “Mosquito” was Tuesday sentenced to three years imprisonment for the trafficking of cocaine after his trial before Magistrate Crystal Lambert at the Providence Magistrate’s Court came to an end.On January, 29, 2016, France, 41, of Grove Housing Scheme, was found guilty of having 11 grams of cocaine in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was sentenced to three years imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of $30,000.
According to reports on January 29, 2016, police ranks of the Narcotic Branch conducted a raid at Lot 17 Nazreen Street, Grove, EBD. The house is reportedly occupied by the accused, who is the owner of the property.
During the raid, the ranks saw the man throw a transparent plastic bag into an empty plot of land next door. When the bag was retrieved, it was revealed that it contained a substance suspected to be cocaine. The accused, according to police sources, subsequently escaped but was captured on February 14, 2016.
