Digicel Guyana on Tuesday visited the St. Johns’ Bosco Boys Orphanage at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, where they made a donation to the boys and gifted the administration with a brand new washing machine.
The boys were given school shoes, back packs with stationery and sumptuous snacks, after which they expressed their gratitude for the donation. Digicel Head of Marketing, Jacqueline James, told the gathering that as the cell phone giant celebrates its 10th anniversary on February 14 (Valentine’s Day), they have embarked on a series of charitable activities which started on Tuesday.

She added that Digicel Guyana will visit 10 charitable organizations to make donations in 10 days across the country in observance of their anniversary.
James said their focus this year is on charities and they will make donations to several special schools and orphanages which include Shaheed’s Boys Orphanage, Kitty; Cheshire Home at Mahaica; Canaan Children’s Home, Mahaica; New Amsterdam Special Needs School; Gifted Hands at Kingston; Diamond Special Needs School and Prabhu Sharan, West Coast Demerara.
During the presentation ceremony at St. John’s Bosco Orphanage, James outfitted several of the boys with school shoes.
