Alliance For Change (AFC) party co-founder, Raphael Trotman has been elected  leader of the party at elections held at the party’s Fifth Biennial Conference at the Vreed-en-Hoop Secondary School today.

And reports from the West Demerara are that co-founder of the AFC,  Khemraj Ramjattan was elected chairman. Voting for the top post of the AFC was closely contested, according to a social media update on the official Facebook page of Prime Minister, Moses Nagamootoo.

Trotman, the current Minister of Natural Resources won by two votes over Ramjattan, the Public Security Minister, with final figures of 127-125 in favour of Trotman. According to the report, after AFC executive member Cathy Hughes declined, Ramjattan was declared party chairman, unopposed.
