Procurement plan in place for Region Five budget implementation

Dear Editor,
THE regional administration of Region Five (Mahaica/Berbice) management team has developed its procurement plan for the 2017 budget implementation. The procurement plan will ensure that the regional administration’s delivery of services to the residents of Region Five in a timely, efficient, effective and transparent process.

Procurement plays a key role within your region’s operations; there is no doubt of the importance of planning in order to maximise outcomes. To put it simply, procurement planning defines a process whereby the Region Five management team has established what needs to be procured (goods, services or works), when they need to be procured (contract timeframes).

Procurement planning has provided benefits for Region Five, such as: it has provided an opportunity for all stakeholders to meet and discuss procurement requirements and objectives. The region had its first procurement workshop with contractors on 20th of January, 2017.
When it comes to procurement processes within Region Five, failing to plan is planning to fail. The Mahaica-Berbice region which set aside time to methodically plan our procurement approach will enjoy a more organised, effective; efficient and transparent service delivery to the people of Mahaica-Berbice.

Yours Sincerely,
Govind Singh
Deputy Regional Executive Officer
Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice)
