THE police are awaiting the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) before they proceed to charge a man, who allegedly stabbed to death a miner of Moruca Village, North West District (NWD) on Sunday.

Reports indicate that Robert Ferreira, 30 called “Bobby” was killed as a result of an argument with another miner. The suspect is accused of breaking a bottle which he used to stab Ferreira to his upper right leg.
The injured man was subsequently picked up and rushed to a nearby hospital, but it was too late.

Ferreira leaves to mourn his parents, and almost a dozen siblings. It’s the second incident of its kind in recent times in the area. During the early hours of Boxing Day in December 2016, Remington Dindyal was stabbed following an altercation with another man. He recovered from his injuries soon after.
