POLICE are reviewing surveillance footage in an alleged shooting that occurred outside Tower Suites, Main Street, Georgetown early Sunday morning. No one has been detained.Reports disclose that the circumstances of the report and shooting are sketchy and the management of the hotel is cooperating with the police in the investigation.

Last December police apprehended two bandits who had robbed an accountant outside the Tower Suites. Police say that the employee, who is an accountant with the hotel, had just returned from making a substantial withdrawal from a city bank.
The accountant was about to disembark in front of the hotel when he was approached by one of the robbers, who discharged a round from a firearm. The bullet also struck a security guard who was in the vehicle and broke a window. The bag containing the cash was snatched and the robber escaped on a waiting motorcycle.

The injured guard was rushed to a private hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later discharged.

The police say that mobile patrol acting on information pursued the suspects, who tried to elude the lawmen and ended up in the Sussex Street Canal in the vicinity of North East La Penitence.

The motorcycle and a significant amount of cash were recovered. One of the suspects admitted to dropping the firearm in the canal, the police said.
