MORE than 70 children, between the ages of two and eight, from Sophia were feted on Saturday by the Players’ Club of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR).Spearheading the party was Councillor of Constituency Six and member of the Players’ Club of the PNCR, Andrea Marks, who said that it is a yearly event whereby children in Sophia, primarily from the ‘D’ Field area, are treated.
This year, the small children received toys, food and other goodies. In addition, they were paid a visit by Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Basil Williams, who gave gifts to some of the children.
“This is an annual Children’s party for the children,” the Attorney General said and noted that there were more than 70 children at the party. He said that being in the yuletide season, it was befitting to fete the children and make them feel special.
“Christmas largely is the season for children… toys and all the gifts and lots to eat,” according to Williams. “So it’s a happy day for them and I’m happy to be there with them.”
The party was held at the Cumming’s Lodge Multipurpose Building in ‘E’ Field Sophia.
