SIX men in West Ruimveldt, Georgetown were arrested Wednesday night after police got wind of information that they were planning a robbery.According to a police source, ranks in ‘A’ Division swooped down on a fruit stall in the community where the men were liming and arrested them, including the stall owner.

They were arrested after a .38 Taurus pistol with one live round was found under a piece of wood on the ground next to the men.

“Is like they stash it when the police come,” one resident said.

Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Jairam Ramlakhan confirmed the arrest of the men, and informed Guyana Chronicle that they are in custody pending investigation and ID parade.
