THIRTY-YEAR-OLD Trenton Dazzle, a taxi driver, died at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, East Bank Demerara, shortly after crashing his car on the East Bank public road.

The Guyana Chronicle understands that Dazzle of Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was driving motor car PKK 9165 at Den Heuvel, East Bank Demerara on Monday, when he lost control on the wet road, slammed into a utility post and then into a parked car. He was rushed to the hospital but died while receiving medical attention. The accident occurred at approximately 15:15hrs.

According to reports, at the time of the accident, the father of 3 was returning to the city after dropping off a passenger. He operated his taxi outside Demico House, Georgetown, and resided at Lot 124 ‘B’ Field, Sophia with his mother and six siblings.

At Dazzel’s home on Tuesday his brother Kennard Dazzel said that at about 17:00hrs he received a telephone call stating that his younger sibling was involved in an accident after which he made checks at the Georgetown hospital and other health institutions.

Kennard told the Guyana Chronicle that he then visited the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour where his worse fears were confirmed when he saw the lifeless body of his brother. He related that Trenton looked as though he was asleep, with his legs crossed and his hands at the side of his pants.

According to Kennard, the only physical injury his brother had was a cut above the eye and there was a tube in his mouth. He said a post mortem will be conducted on the body on Wednesday.

Trenton’s wife, who resides overseas has since been informed of his demise and is expected to travel to Guyana. His death on the roadway has tallied the fatality figure in 2016 to 124, eight more than last year, for the corresponding period.
