THE Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) annual end-of-year tournament, Titan Bowl, has been cancelled for this December according to YBG Director Chris Bowman. The statement was made by way of post in the Youth Basketball Guyana Facebook group. “Due to the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) being out of commission for maintenance purposes, Titan Bowl VII will not be possible this year,” stated Bowman in the post.
The post also said: “We regret to make this announcement since we know TB (Titan Bowl) is one of the highly anticipated competition on the YBG calendar. Hopefully we could all look forward to a full and uninterrupted calendar in 2017.”
Last year’s tournament finished with Kwakwani coming out on top over Government Technical Institute (GTI) 75-70. This year’s tournament would have seen vast improvement and would possibly have been the best to date.
Next year will see the annual Five Challenge Series as the first event on the YBG calendar.
